16:0-18:1 BMP (R,R) 791051 16:0-18:1 BMP (R,R)
16:0-18:1 BMP is an asymmetric analog of Lysobisphosphatidic Acid (LBPA) containing one saturated palmitic acid (16:0) and one unsaturated oleic acid (18:1). BMP is a unique structural phospholipid localized almost exclusively to the inner membranes of late endosomes and lysosomes. BMP regulates cellular cholesterol homeostasis and acts as a cofactor for the enzymatic degradation of sphingolipids. This lipid is an essential tool for researching lysosomal storage disorders.
