18:1 PS (DOPS) 840035 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine (sodium salt)
1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine (sodium salt), or 18:1 PS (DOPS), is an ionic phospholipid with two 18-carbon monounsaturated acyl chains, which makes it a naturally occurring phosphatidylserine (PS) analog. As such, DOPS plays a crucial role in membrane dynamics, signal transduction, and protein-lipid interactions. This phospholipid is also known for its low phase transition temperature of ~–10 to –12°C, which means it can remain highly fluid at physiological temperatures. This allows seamless integration into liposomal formulations, apoptosis research, and cell membrane studies.
