27-OH-cholesterol, 3-sulfate A88212 (Previously 880212) 27-hydroxycholesterol-3-sulfate, sodium salt
27-Hydroxycholesterol, 3-sulfate is a sulfated oxysterol formed when 27-hydroxycholesterol is sulfated on the 3beta carbon of Ring A. Sulfation increases polarity and is a common route for transport and clearance of oxysterols in vivo. Having the sulfate in this position blocks ACAT esterification. This product also has greater aqueous compatibility vs. the non-sulfated oxysterol. Applications for this product range from being used as a Lipidomics standard for mass spectrometry testing to enzyme and pathway studies.
