Avanti offers a wide variety of biotinylated lipids. Biotinylated lipids have a biotin moiety built into one of the fatty acid chains of the lipid. One of the major roles that these lipids play is the coupling of a recombinant ligand to an artificial lipid bilayer. Artificial lipid bilayers are used to model the interactions between platelets and membrane-bound ligands. Monobiotinylated recombinant ligands are coupled to the upper leaflet of an artificial lipid bilayer using biotinylated lipids. Check out our array of biotinylated lipids above!
