Croda’s Avanti Research™ expands advanced lipid technologies through collaboration with NovoArc

1 June 2026: Avanti Polar Lipids, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Croda International Plc, and NovoArc GmbH (NovoArc) are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration to expand global access to advanced lipid technologies. Through this collaboration, Avanti Research will make NovoArc’s next-generation tetraether lipid technologies available to researchers worldwide, supporting new possibilities in lipid-based delivery and formulation design.

As part of this agreement, Avanti Research will offer NovoArc’s portfolio of archaeal tetraether lipids, including glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers (GDGTs) and related structures, which have been reported to exhibit stability under a range of conditions.

These lipids represent a structurally distinct class compared to traditional phospholipids and may contribute to differences in membrane organization, rigidity, and resistance to environmental stress, depending on formulation and use conditions.

This expanded toolbox may support exploration of new formulation approaches, including oral and topical delivery routes, PEG free nanoparticle systems, and strategies aimed at enhancing the stability and delivery of sensitive payloads such as mRNA, proteins, and peptides.
