Oxysterols

Oxysterols have been identified as an important class of regulatory molecules with diverse biological actions. These molecules have been found to be natural regulators of sterol synthesis and of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. Oxysterols can induce programmed cell death and can also affect the development of calcification in vascular cells. Oxysterols are also linked to affecting nuclear orphan receptors. Oxysterols have a significant potential for application in pharmaceutical medicine due to their key roles in cholesterol metabolism, cell growth, and various other biological processes. Avanti offers a wide variety of oxysterols to fit your research needs including both synthetic derivatives and natural oxysterols.
